Itinerary: 7 Days Morocco Tour from Tangier to Marrakech

Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen

We will pick you up at the airport or port of Tangier and the exit to Chefchaouen, a city founded as a secret mysterious place from which to attack the Portuguese settled on the north coast. Europeans were banned from entering the village until the arrival of Spanish troops in 1920. Arrived at Chefchaouen in the afternoon for first contact with the city. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2: Visit to Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we have a day off in Chefchaouen, a holy city perched on the mountain, located within a nature reserve of the biosphere. Its streets are painted white and blue, and friendly people, offer visitors beautiful declining urban landscapes precious specimens of local craftsmanship, and peace and serenity that is hard to find today. Day 3: Chefchaouen - Meknes City - Roman Ruins of Volubilis - Fes

In the morning, take the time to walk in the blue indigo alleys of this beautiful city of Rif before taking the road to Fez. We will visit the third imperial city of Morocco, Meknes, and its 40 km of ramparts. In Meknes, we will explore the city’s main attractions, including the Bab El Mansour Gate, the Bab Lakhmiss Gate, the Royal Stables, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then we will continue to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis to explore the site before heading to Fez for another night.
 

Day 4: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Merzouga

After breakfast, We will lead you from Fez to Ifrane, which is a beautiful mountain village, often called the Switzerland of Morocco. We will stop near the cedar forest in the middle of the Atlas mountains where you can see the monkeys enjoying their freedom. We continue our trip to Azrou – Berber village in the largest cedar forest in Morocco. Then we visit the town of Midelt famous for its minerals and cool weather in summer. We will travel along the Ziz Valley, then visit Erfoud and its fossil products. In Rissani we can visit the local souk and enjoy Berber pizza. Later we arrived at the Merzouga desert and stayed tonight at the hotel in the desert right in front of the dunes.

Day 5: Explore Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we can start exploring the desert region and visit the village of Gnawa village, originally slaves of Sudan to discover its music and lifestyle. Not far away is the lake of Merzouga, with its flamingos. You can also visit the nomadic wire house where a lot of Berber crafts are cheaper than in the big cities. In the afternoon, you’ll be ready for your camel ride. Guided by an experienced camel rider, you will explore the mysterious sandy sea of Erg-Chebbi for 2-3 hours before spending your night under the stars, or if you prefer, in a traditional Berber nomadic tent. Dinner will be served in the camp where you will spend the night.

Day 6: Merzouga Desert - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges

Early in the morning, we will see the sunrise from the high dune, then we will continue on camel back to our hotel in Merzouga. After breakfast and shower, we continue our private tour of Morocco to Rissani and Erfoud where we can visit fossil marble factories and cooperatives. Then we cross Tinjdad city, Tinghir city, and Todra Gorges. It is a paradise for climbers and you will have free time to discover it for yourself. In the afternoon we continue to the Dades valley where we will dine and stay in a local riad/hotel.

Day 7: Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

Today we leave for Marrakech by visiting Ouarzazate where we can visit movie studios and also the local kasbah. We continue our private visit to Morocco to Ait Ben Haddou to visit its famous village and kasbah. Many famous films have been shot here. Then we continue driving through the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n Tichka mountain pass. After your arrival in Marrakech, we will drop you off at your hotel or airport.
